Internationally acclaimed, multi-platinum-selling artists Tove Lo and SG Lewis have set the music scene ablaze with the release of their highly anticipated collaborative EP, “HEAT,” out today via Pretty Swede Records. The dynamic duo’s latest project promises to be a sizzling addition to summer playlists, boasting four tracks that each stand out as unique musical experiences.

“HEAT” opens with “Let Me Go OH OH,” a track that nostalgically recalls the vibrant club sounds of the late 90s and early 2000s. Tove Lo reveals the inspiration behind the song: “We wanted to make something with a similar temperature as Kylie’s ‘Can’t Get You Out of My Head’… sexy, cool, and hypnotic.”

Following the nostalgic vibes, “Busy Girl” takes the EP in a different direction. Written with “drag queens and sassy bitches” in mind, Tove Lo explains, “We wanted to revive some of that 2000s dirty electro-house like Fedde le Grand or Mason.” SG Lewis adds, “TEED and I worked on the perfect instrumental together for that purpose.”

The EP concludes with “Desire,” a track described by SG Lewis as the project’s “90s trance moment.” He elaborates, “I wanted it to be really emotional, something that could be played at the end of the night. It felt like the perfect way to close off the EP.”

Accompanying the EP release is a bold and daring official music video for the title track “HEAT,” directed by David Wilson. Known for his work with Tame Impala, Arctic Monkeys, and Christine & The Queens, Wilson captured the vibrant energy of the EP at London’s iconic Electrowerkz nightclub. Tove Lo highlights the visual aspect: “We wanted the visual aspect to reflect the free, open, and sexy energy we’ve put into the music, surrounded by our queer fans who inspired us to make these songs.”

SG Lewis adds, “We wanted the video to celebrate the queer community, and for the shoot itself to be a big sweaty party. Tove has gotten so good at DJ’ing, and we played B2B for a total of four hours; it was so much fun!”

David Wilson provides further insight into the project: “Each video we shot was a different perspective on ‘Club Heat,’ depicting the breadth of experiences in nightlife. The aim was to represent queer joy personified, uncensored, and undiluted.”

To celebrate the EP’s release, Tove Lo and SG Lewis threw an epic CLUB HEAT party in West Hollywood last night, where they played tracks from the EP alongside some of their favorite club hits. Spotify marked the occasion with a donation to The Trevor Project, an organization close to both artists. The celebration continues with CLUB HEAT set to return at Glastonbury Festival later this month.

“HEAT” was co-written by Tove Lo and SG Lewis, with additional production from Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs, making it a true collaborative effort.

The “HEAT” EP is available on all major streaming platforms now. For more information on the upcoming CLUB HEAT party at Glastonbury Festival and to purchase tickets, visit www.glastonburyfestivals.co.uk.
