British rap artist and social internet sensation Yung Filly-also known as Andrés Felipe Valencia Barrientos arrested and charged with a string of serious offenses in Australia. The 29-year-old is touring the country and remanded in custody in Brisbane to front Perth Magistrates Court on Thursday, October 10.

Yung Filly is charged with four counts of sexual penetration without consent, three counts of assault occasioning bodily harm, and one count of impeding another person’s breathing by applying pressure to the neck. The alleged incident occurred after a performance at Perth nightclub Bar120 on September 28, involving a woman in her 20s, whom Yung Filly is accused of assaulting in his hotel room.

During the court hearing, photos of the woman’s injuries were displayed by the prosecution, describing the attack as “beyond the pale” and arguing that “no ordinary person can consent in these circumstances.”

Yung Filly is a Colombia-born British YouTube personality created his channel in 2013 and has gained over 1.84 million followers. He is mostly known for collaborating with Chunkz, another YouTuber, and showing up with the Beta Squad. He has since pursued work in mainstream media presenting various BBC Three shows such as Hot Property and Yung Filly’s Celeb Lock-In. He has also appeared on the shows The Great Celebrity Bake Off, Soccer Aid, and Would I Lie To You?.

In music, Yung Filly had just released his single “Tempted” and collaborated with UK rappers Chip and Aitch, who released the song “Grey” earlier this year.

Chunkz has not yet spoken out publicly about the matter, although he is a long-time collaborator of Yung Filly’s and co-host of The Chunkz and Yung Filly Show. The two have collaborated closely, but recent speculation of a fallout arose after the pair, in an April podcast episode, admitted to falling out. The most recent podcast episode was released six days before Yung Filly’s arrest and they are expected to appear in a sold-out live show in London next week.

Yung Filly has remained in custody as his legal case continues to move forward. During the hearing, several supporters of the performer reportedly showed up in the courtroom.
