A Brazilian social media influencer died in an accident in a highway crash in the state of Minas Gerais, in which seven people lost their lives.

The accident occurred when a car that was fleeing from police officers and was carrying more than 300 pounds of marijuana crashed into another car traveling towards her.

Brazilian influencer Alana Alves da Silva, 28, passed away in the accident that happened on Aug. 8 on highway BR 251, in the region of Salinas, in the north of the state.

According to the Federal Highway Police of Brazil, the social media star was a passenger in the Fiat Cronos, which did not stop and drove for six miles until its driver tried to pass many cars illegally on a bend that does not allow it. The Fiat crossed over to the other side of the highway and crashed into a car of the GM Astra brand that was coming in the opposite direction at kilometer 304 of the highway.

The police found about 137 kilograms (302 pounds) of marijuana that was packed in 164 bricks inside the Fiat car.

Alves, the driver, Pedro Yan Linhares Gutierrez, 24, and his passenger, Ramon Silverio Nogueira, 19, were killed in the accident. Gutierrez and Nogueira were transported to the hospital in Salinas, where they died. The fourth one, a 20-year-old woman whose name is not disclosed yet, survived, but she is hospitalized because of serious injuries: traumatic brain injury and multiple fractures.

Gutierrez did not have a driving license, and he was wearing an electronic bracelet that controlled him at the time of the accident. The regional head of police, Douglas Ferraz Veloso, informed that the driver had faced charges of drug trafficking in Ceará state. The Civil Police has started the investigation into the cases of drug trafficking and criminal association.

Also, all four passengers of the Astra died. These were Argemiro Machado da Silva, 79; Valmir Machado da Silva, 76; Alcides Silva Santos, 77; and Gilmar Bispo dos Santos, 46.

All four men were from Ruy Barbosa, a town in Bahia’s Chapada Diamantina region, and traveled to São Paulo. The Machado da Silva brothers were retired electricians who used to work in São Paulo, but they had already returned home and were giving the others a ride, according to their relatives.

The bodies of four men were delivered from the medical examiner’s office in Taiobeiras. They were transported 400 miles back to Bahia, where these four men were buried on Aug. 10. The city administration paid for the transport and funeral costs and delivered the official condolences to the relatives.

Alves was popularly known as “Vampira 085” and had 60,000 followers on Instagram. She published videos of her lifestyle, workouts, and pranks. Alves was born in Ceará, lived in Fortaleza, the state capital, and owned Latina Fitness.
