Warner Bros. Pictures has released the official trailer and new still images for “Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga,” the highly anticipated return to George Miller’s iconic dystopian world. The film stars Anya Taylor-Joy and Chris Hemsworth in a standalone action-adventure that delves into the origins of the powerful character first introduced in “Mad Max: Fury Road.”

In this latest installment, Miller takes audiences back to a world on the brink, exploring the early life of Furiosa. Snatched from the Green Place of Many Mothers, she finds herself entwined with the Biker Horde led by the Warlord Dementus. The narrative unfolds as they traverse the Wasteland, encountering the Citadel ruled by The Immortan Joe. Amidst the power struggle between these tyrants, Furiosa must navigate trials to forge her path home.

Anya Taylor-Joy takes on the titular role alongside Chris Hemsworth, Alyla Browne, and Tom Burke. Miller, along with his long-time collaborator Doug Mitchell, produces the film under their Kennedy Miller Mitchell banner.

The script, co-written by Miller and “Mad Max: Fury Road” co-writer Nico Lathouris, promises a fresh exploration of the beloved post-apocalyptic universe. The creative team includes Simon Duggan as director of photography, Tom Holkenborg as composer, and a roster of esteemed collaborators recognized for their work on “Mad Max: Fury Road.”

“Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga” marks a significant return to the franchise, delivering a cinematic spectacle that fans have eagerly awaited. Warner Bros. Pictures plans a worldwide theatrical release starting on May 24, 2024, following an international rollout beginning on May 22, 2024.

As the countdown to the film’s release begins, audiences can look forward to an exciting journey into the origins of one of modern cinema’s most iconic characters.
