Jasmine Cephas Jones received an Emmy Award for her leading role in the short-form series, “#Freerayshawn” for Quibi and stars in the television series, “Blindspotting” for Starz.
We had the opportunity to interview Jones about her new show and what people should expect from the season finale.
A recording artist, Jones recently released her debut EP, Blue Bird. The originator of the roles of ‘Peggy Schuyler’ and ‘Maria Reynolds’ in the Tony Award winning Broadway hit “Hamilton an American Musical”, Jones also stars in the hit feature film version for Disney+.
Additional theatre credits include an Off-Broadway run of “Cyrano” opposite Peter Dinklage, “Hamilton” (Off-Broadway), “The Loneliness of the Long Distance Runner” (Atlantic Theater). Film credits include The Photograph (Universal), Marriage Story (Netflix), Blindspotting (Lionsgate), Dog Days (Annapurna), Monsters & Men (Neon), Mistress America (Fox Searchlight), and Titus (Dakus Films UK). Jones sang America The Beautiful with her original ‘Schuyler Sisters’ co-stars on the field before Super Bowl LI.
She also recently debuted a fashion collaboration with the LOU & GREY brand. Jones trained at the Berklee College of Music for vocal performance and The Neighborhood Playhouse for Theater. She is a member of the LAByrinth Theater Company.
