JPMorgan Chase is fighting against the legal battle initiated by a former male employee who accuses Lorna Hajdini, a female executive at the bank, of sexual harassment and coercion.
According to The New York Post, Chirayu Rana, 35 years old, claims that Hajdini tried to sexually assault him and pressured him to perform sexually. She allegedly threatened him that she would ruin his life if he didn’t do as she wished. In addition, the man says that Hajdini addressed him and his wife using racial epithets.
In reply, JPMorgan refuted all the accusations after performing an internal investigation.
“Following an investigation, we don’t believe there’s any merit to these claims,” the bank representatives informed The New York Post. “While numerous employees cooperated with the investigation, the complainant refused to participate and has declined to provide facts that would be central to support his allegations.”
The New York Post also noted that Rana was not a subordinate of Hajdini. They were just colleagues working on the leveraged finance team. Some supporters of Hajdini point out that this information undermines the lawsuit.
“He has tarnished her with a complete fabrication,” one of the sources close to Hajdini told The New York Post.
So far, Hajdini hasn’t provided any comments regarding the allegations against her.
