The visitors broke the deadlock in the 58th minute when Vinicius Júnior converted a penalty awarded after a handball by Sergio Gómez. Kylian Mbappé sealed the victory in the 74th minute, scoring from another penalty spot kick.
The match was a tightly contested affair throughout, with both teams creating numerous scoring opportunities. Real Sociedad’s Alex Remiro made several impressive saves to keep his side in the game, but the visitors’ superior finishing ultimately proved decisive.
