Mom Films First Doctor Visit Without Her Daughter’s Dad: “It’s So Unfamiliar Being Here Alone”

A TikTok user, Jaiden, came into the spotlight after posting a video in which she talked about going to a medical appointment with her baby daughter without her father.

The video, titled “The truth of transitioning to a single mom,” was filmed outside the doctor’s office before the daughter’s 6-month visit.

“I’m not really the type to come on here and get emotional, but, gosh, I’m feeling all the things right now,” Jaiden said in the video. “I’m at my daughter’s first appointment, um, without her dad. It’s her six-month appointment, and it’s so unfamiliar being here alone. It’s uncomfortable. I don’t know, it’s just weird, I guess.”

She said that it was difficult to get out of the car while watching other parents arriving together.

“It’s hard to get out of the car. I keep on. I’ve seen, like, two families walk in so far with their husband or wife, and I don’t know, I just feels bad for her,” she said. “Uh, but I’m just grateful I’m here with her.”

Jaiden said that the difficult thing was not the appointment itself but visiting the places associated with her past.

“Gosh, it’s weird. I didn’t think it’d be that hard today, but it’s just weird going to places that I have memories at with her dad,” she said. “Oh. But, yeah, that’s how I’m feeling today.”
