A Pottsville teacher and coach got arrested and charged with 1st-degree sexual assault of a minor.
Pope County Sheriff’s Office started to investigate the Pottsville teacher and coach named Meredith “Lyndsey” Hill on January 13th after the Crimes Against Children Department made them aware that Hill had engaged in sexual intercourse with a student at the local high school.
The investigators on the case revealed they found inappropriate photos of Hill on the student’s phone. The student told investigators that he had sex with Meredith “Lyndsey” Hill in the summer before turning a sophomore in high school, the student is currently a junior in high school.
The student also told investigators that Hill was his 7th-grade science teacher but formed a relationship with her when he became a freshman in high school. He continued by telling the investigators that he had engaged in sexual intercourse with Hill in her classroom once and that they communicated through Instagram DM’s. The student ended up blocking her after their relationship fizzled out.
When the investigators interviewed the student’s friends, one of them provided the investigators with an alleged video of Hill dancing with the minor. The other one told them two weeks ago he had been shown nude images sent to the victim from Hill in June of 2022.
On January 19th, Pope County Sheriff’s Office authorities contacted Hill but she allegedly refused to speak with them because she had an appointment with her attorney. They arrested and booked her into the Pope County Detention Center later that day.
She appeared before Circuit Judge James Dunham via Zoom for a bond hearing on January 20th. When Hill posted bond. She was ordered not to be around anyone under 18 years old excluding her children and ordered not to have contact with anyone at the school or the victim. She’s currently on house arrest with a GPS monitor and has to stay off social media.
The seventh-grade Pottsville science teacher also served as the head softball and tennis coach. Hill previously coached softball at Dardanelle.

House arrest? If it had been the other way around, a male teacher, I am sure the so called LAW would have put him in prison for years !!!!!!! So much for ” Equality under the law “/ What a joke.
