Multi-platinum pop sensation Tate McRae releases her third studio album, So Close To What, on February 21st, 2025, via RCA Records. This new project is a major development in her sound, delving more into the complex areas of growing up, love, and finding oneself through a world of uncertainty. So Close To What has been referred to as a raw and introspective journey through struggles and triumphs as one navigates the infinite road ahead, its elusive destination being adulthood.

So Close To What-Details About The Album

As Tate says in a statement, “So Close To What reflects my journey and my growth. It’s about learning to love the mess while I figure out how to balance it all out.” To mark the occasion of the new album, Tate has announced a special merchandise limited quantity of signed posters, as well as vinyl variants that are available in her online store, here.

The album announcement will be made in conjunction with the release of Tate’s new single “2 Hands,” coupled with a provocative music video, which can be accessed later today at 4 p.m. PT / 7 p.m. ET. It comes on the heels of her latest single, “It’s Ok I’m Ok,” for which Tate notched her highest-charting debut on the Billboard Hot 100 and has amassed more than 165 million streams worldwide.
