The Mortal Kombat sequel’s cast will include some new faces in addition to a few returning favorites.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, ‘YOU’ star Tati Gabrielle is in final negotiations to play Jade in the Mortal Kombat sequel.

For those unfamiliar with the game series, Jade first appeared in Mortal Kombat II as an assassin who is also a friend and bodyguard to Princess Kitana.

If this casting is confirmed, Tati Gabrielle will appear in the Mortal Kombat sequel, in which Karl Urban will play Johnny Cage.

Producer Todd Garner teased on The Hashtag Show that Kitana will appear in the Mortal Kombat sequel, but no reports on her casting have yet surfaced. Along with Jade, Kitana, and Johnny Cage, Garner has hinted that the sequel will include Shao Khan, Quan Chi, and Baraka.

Although there is no official release date for Mortal Kombat 2, it is exciting to see the cast for the sequel begin to take shape.

After directing the 2021 film, Simon McQuoid is back in the director’s chair. Jeremy Slater (Moon Knight) wrote the screenplay for the new film.
