What would you do if you found a mysterious door in the woods?
This is a question that leading stars Stefanie Scott, Sofia Bryant, and Misha Osherovich in the newest series on Peacock TV, The Girl in the Woods, pondered about when asked whether they would be intrigued by the door or avoid it all together. Surprisingly, their reactions were pretty much the complete opposite of what their characters would decide in the show. And what would that comical answer be? To avoid any uncertainty of the magical door to a different realm altogether.
Despite coming from a former Disney background after starring on the hit series A.N.T. Farm and Frenemies, Stefanie Scott has continued to showcase her range of talent when approached with roles of horror or combat. However, the actress couldn’t have loved preparing more for the role of Carrie in The Girl in the Woods because she’s embodying a young woman with immense power and skill sets. The training that Scott endured in preparation for the role was necessary to further solidify the true essence of the character. After watching Scott perform in her combat scenes with her trained guidance and direction, the respect level for this upcoming actress can only increase in the industry.
Although the show consists of chaos among the different characters and realms that collide, the actors truly loved their experience on set among the cast and crew. The energy was comfortable, knowledgeable, and brought a sense of family when they were all on set. Another aspect of the show that audiences will be introduced to that Misha Osherovich is delighted about is incorporating more of nonbinary representation within the show. Although the entertainment industry has continued to strive for enforcing more diversity and nonbinary represenation, Osherovich is aware that their are still ways to go. However, Osherovich is proud that the role of Nolan will be able to connect with audiences and become that representation throughout the series.
Not only did I have the opportunity to speak with the leading stars of The Girl in the Woods, but as well as Breaking Bad’s Krysten Ritter who served as the director for the first four episodes of the series. What’s something that fans might not know about this legendary actress? Horror is one of her favorite genres that she finds incredibly intriguing. Therefore, Ritter was completely head over heels and sold on the vision the first time she reviewed The Girl in the Woods script and decided to sign on to be a part of the series. Despite Ritter stepping behind the scenes as director for the series, fans will still be able to catch this actress in front of the lens with a new project she’s been working on very soon. If you’re a fan of this Breaking Bad star and The Girl in the Woods series, make sure to connect with Ritter on socials about what episode was your favorite that she directed!
The Girl in the Woods is now available for streaming on Peacock TV.
