Sam Levinson and The Weeknd’s “THE IDOL” has a new trailer and a release date. The series will make its world premiere next month at the Cannes Film Festival.

The HBO series begins with Jocelyn, played by Lily-Rose Depp, determined to assert her rightful status as the greatest and sexiest pop star in America after her last tour was derailed by a nervous breakdown. Tedros (Abel “The Weeknd” Tesfaye), a club owner with a shady past, reignites her passions. Will her heartfelt arousing take her to heavenly new levels or the most profound and haziest profundities of her spirit?
Troye Sivan, Lily-Rose Depp, and Abel “The Weeknd” Tesfaye star in the show. Dan Levy, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Eli Roth, Hari Nef, Jane Adams, Jennie Ruby Jane, Mike Dean, Moses Sumney, Rachel Sennott, Ramsey, and Hank Azaria are also in the series.

The drama series THE IDOL will premiere on HBO on June 4th at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT. Max and HBO will air the show, which can also be streamed online.
