Kylie Brewer, a TikTok creator, uploaded a video that talks about white men, even those claiming to be politically progressive, having sexual fetishes about Black men and seeing them as hypermasculine and sexually dominant.
In her video, Brewer talked about an instance when a friend she knows had been dating a guy in California, and the guy allegedly asked the friend to say “black lives matter” at the height of sexual excitement.
“And she was like, ‘What the (expletive)?'” Brewer explained, emphasizing that the guy was called “a leftist” or “left-leaning” by her friend.
According to Brewer, that made the friend feel disconnected from the moment, and the friend asked the guy, “What are you talking about?”
Brewer explained that the response from the guy was “Oh, like I need you to say that I need you to say that like, you’ve dated black men in the past and like, I’m nothing compared to them.”
Brewer labeled this as a humiliation kink. “These men have humiliation kinks, and they enjoy being compared to black men because it’s a sexual thing for them,” she noted. “And it just shows how much sexual fetishes are shaped by racism.”
Brewer emphasized that the trend transcends political lines. “Cause white men, even though they’re on the left, that are using this as a way to get off, it’s very, very uncomfortable,” she noted. “And it shows how deeply this fetishization is rooted in white culture.”
According to Brewer, no Black people were present during that encounter. “There weren’t even black people in the room,” she said. “It was just two white people. And yet during sex, they’re talking about a black man.”
The case cited by Brewer is milder than what she’s seen online. “This is not even close to the worst thing people are saying out there,” she said. “All I’ll say is do not go on Twitter and search up anything related to fetishization of black people.”
“And it’s not just conservative men doing this,” she further added. “It’s a lot of men on the left as well.”
