When BEYBLADE first exploded onto the scene over two decades ago, it was hard to envision how it would continue to affect generations of fans around the world. Now, thanks to BEYBLADE X, the franchise has solidified and continued to expand on what made it successful in the past, through new anime episodes, tournaments, collectible items, and an increasing number of fans worldwide.

Unlike many other brands that can ride a wave of nostalgia, BEYBLADE X demonstrates how well it can adapt to today’s trends while staying connected with the fans who have been instrumental in making it as recognizable as it is in anime.

Recent announcements at Anime Expo 2026 provided a glimpse into the exciting direction BEYBLADE is heading, with a focus on growth, accessibility and connecting fans with each other on an even greater scale.

BEYBLADE X Season 3 Maintains the Momentum

Among the biggest pieces of news for anime fans is Disney’s continued role as the U.S. broadcaster for BEYBLADE X Season 3. As of now, a release date for the third season has not been officially announced, but the continued partnership indicates confidence in the series’ ability to reach audiences across multiple platforms.

Although fans will have to wait for further details on when Season 3 will be aired, Season 2 will continue to be broadcast on Disney XD throughout the rest of the summer.

Additionally, Season 2 is currently available via Hulu and Hulu on Disney+ for U.S. bundle subscribers. Internationally, Season 2 may be viewed on Disney+, allowing fans worldwide to continue following the latest battles.

The continued relationship with Disney emphasizes the franchise’s growing international appeal and helps introduce a new generation of viewers to the BEYBLADE universe.

Much More Than Just an Anime

One reason BEYBLADE has achieved such lasting success over the last two decades is that it has always been more than just an anime. It is a competitive sport and hobby, a collectible franchise, and a welcoming global community centered on friendly rivalries.

This concept remains central to BEYBLADE X.

At Anime Expo 2026, we got the chance to speak to Ashley Talbot, Global Marketing Head at ADK Emotions NY Inc., and Mana Kimura, Global Marketing Manager at ADK Emotions NY Inc., about what makes the franchise so meaningful to fans.

“I love the community aspect of it,” Talbot said. “I love the fact that it’s a very generational brand. We have a lot of parents that played Beyblade when they were in their teens in the early 2000s that now have children that are also playing Beyblade with them. So it’s a wonderful family activity. It’s very heartwarming to see. And it’s off television, so we’re getting the physical aspect of play.”

That community aspect is one of the strongest parts of BEYBLADE X’s current momentum. The franchise encourages fans to engage with one another through organized tournaments, hands-on events, and competitive battles that extend beyond television screens.

For new fans who may feel intimidated about attending events or competing for the first time, Talbot encouraged them to connect with other Bladers and give it a try.

“We do organize official tournaments regularly that people can feel comfortable coming out to,” Talbot said. “But also, the Beyblade community is super deep and very welcoming, and there are a lot of events casually. So I would encourage those fans to try to find people around them to play with. Beyblade fans are so welcoming, so kind, and so enthusiastic to share their passion. So go find them and learn.”

That welcoming spirit helps make BEYBLADE accessible to fans of all experience levels, whether they are longtime players or newcomers to the franchise.

Local Battles to the World Stage

The best representation of BEYBLADE X’s ambition to become an even larger global franchise can be seen within the upcoming The BEYBLADE X GP FINAL 2026 in BANGKOK.

Qualifying events for the tournament circuit will take place across North America before National Champions advance to the Grand Prix Finals in Bangkok, Thailand. Unlike previous tournaments held exclusively in convention centers, this initiative offers fans the opportunity to compete on a larger international stage while highlighting the skills and strategies that define the franchise.

All information for competitive players, including qualifier details leading into the finals at ICONSIAM in Bangkok this December, will be available on the official BEYBLADE X website.

When asked if there was any BEYBLADE news fans should look out for, Talbot pointed to the Grand Prix Final and upcoming global events.

“In December, we’re having the Grand Prix Final in Thailand, which is going to be a big, big global Beyblade competition,” Talbot said. “Throughout the summer globally, we’ll be having events as well. So please check out beyblade.com for any information, and please come out and participate and compete. We’re excited to see you guys.”

Qualifier tournaments will be happening around the globe this summer. The official BEYBLADE X website is the best resource for holistic, up-to-date information on all events, including tournament registration details, local event pages, and resources for fans who want to get involved.

To many fans, that is exactly what makes BEYBLADE unique: anyone can hold a rip cord, but developing mastery takes strategy, practice, trial and error, and thousands of battles.

The Anime Still Has a Special Place

While BEYBLADE X continues to grow through tournaments and collectibles, the anime remains a major part of the franchise’s identity.

When asked about her favorite version of the anime series, Talbot said the original generation still has a special place in her heart, while also praising BEYBLADE X.

“I grew up with Gen 1, so that will also have a special place in my heart, but X is really, really wonderful,” Talbot said. “It’s action-packed; the art is fantastic; the concept is great; and the tops are really exciting and fun.”

That balance between honoring earlier generations and celebrating BEYBLADE X helps explain why the franchise continues to connect with fans across age groups.

Beyond the Stadium

Fans can interact with the franchise in new ways through collectibles.

The release of the first-ever BEYBLADE X Funko Pop! figures represents another major milestone, as characters from the series join one of pop culture’s most widely recognized lines of collectibles. Like previous milestones, this represents another sign that BEYBLADE X is building upon its legacy by giving fans new ways to celebrate the anime, the characters, and the world of Beystadiums.

Although the first wave features Multi, Robin, and Jaxon, no information can currently be shared about a possible second wave of characters or future convention-exclusive variants. Fans are encouraged to stay tuned.

Alongside an expanded line-up of toys from Hasbro and continued product innovation, BEYBLADE X provides multiple pathways into the franchise for newcomers while also rewarding longtime fans who have supported it for years.

Building Upon Its Lasting Legacy

It would be simple for a franchise like BEYBLADE, which has entertained millions globally since its inception, to rely solely on nostalgia.

Instead, BEYBLADE X continues to grow.

Through confirmation of a third season, continued support from Disney, expansion of international tournament circuits, new collectibles, and a passionate international fanbase, the franchise is not merely revisiting its roots. It is continuing to build its future.

Over 20 years after BEYBLADE first inspired millions of fans around the world to “Let It Rip,” BEYBLADE X continues to solidify its standing as one of anime’s most recognizable global franchises, demonstrating that its momentum has not slowed.

For fans ready to join the action and let it rip, beyblade.com will have local event listings, updates, and tournament registration details throughout the summer.
