Disney+ Just Dropped the Trailer for the Next Chapter of “The Ninth Jedi”

An eight-episode limited anime series titled Star Wars: Visions Presents The Ninth Jedi, from Lucasfilm and Production I.G., has been confirmed for streaming on Disney+ and Hulu on August 5, 2026.

A trailer and key art were unveiled on the day of the announcement. Supervising director Kenji Kamiyama, director Shunsuke Tada, and producer Hitoshi Ito unveiled the trailer and teaser poster at a panel held at the Los Angeles Convention Center for Anime Expo 2026.

"Star Wars: Visions Presents The Ninth Jedi"

This marks the first series under the Star Wars: Visions Presents banner, which will host longer stories from Star Wars: Visions. This story picks up after Visions shorts The Ninth Jedi and The Ninth Jedi: Child of Hope. This story is about Lah Kara, who continues training in the Jedi way under Margrave Juro. Kara sets out on a self-discovery quest with a small group of trainee Jedi, led by Juro, to save her father.

The direction is by Shunsuke Tada, with a script by Mitsuyasu Sakai and supervision by Kamiyama. Executive producers include James Waugh, Jacqui Lopez, Josh Rimes, Justin Leach, and Mitsuhisa Ishikawa. Hitoshi Ito and Kanako Shirasaki are the producers, with Caroline Keller as co-producer.

Voices in the English dub include returning characters: Kimiko Glenn as Lah Kara, Andrew Kishino as Juro, Masi Oka as Ethan, Patrick Seitz as Homen, JP Karliak as Gramps, Simu Liu as Lah Zhima, and Neil Kaplan as The Narrator. The new cast in the English version includes Feodor Chin as Gennoh, Young Mazino as Nawaam, Chase Sui Wonders as Tafflah, and Keone Young as Kwana.

In the original Japanese dub, the voice cast includes returning voices: Chinatsu Akasaki as Lah Kara, Tetsuo Kanao as Juro, Hiromu Mineta as Ethan, Hinata Tadokoro as Homen, Cho as Gramps, Shinichiro Miki as Lah Zhima, with Akio Otsuka as The Narrator.
