Drake’s “Honestly, Nevermind” Album Review Off Of My First Listen

I can’t be too harsh on Drake for my first listen to his new album because his albums usually grow on me. “More Life” and the first half of “Scorpion” really grew on me. CLB was an alright project to me. This “Honestly, Nevermind” feels like it’s going to be Drake’s worst project he has ever released.

“Honestly, Nevermind” has a lot of skips to it and truly feels like it was done purposely because of the album title. I will say I did enjoy “Sticky,” “Downhill,” and “Jimmy Crooks” with 21 Savage. I believe the “Jimmy Crooks” song will be in the top 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart next week. That was the best song of the album for me because it brought so much energy to the project. At this point, I feel like Drake created a lifeless version of The Weeknd’s Dawn FM album.

Drake’s new album should have never been released as his seventh studio. I should drop it as an EP or “A playlist by October Firm.” After, my first listen I would rate this a 2 out of 10. I will try to listen to this album again but it might be hard.
