During Warner Bros. Discovery’s unveiling of the Max streaming service on the Warner Bros. lot in Los Angeles, it was exclusively announced today that Max is currently developing a drama series based on the films in New Line Cinema’s “The Conjuring Universe.”
The project, which is currently in development at Warner Bros. Television, will have Peter Safran, the producer of “The Conjuring,” serving as an executive producer. Executive producing is under consideration by filmmaker James Wan.
The television series “The Conjuring,” which is based on the films produced by New Line Cinema and distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures, will carry on the story that was established in the feature films. Wan’s Nuclear Beast Creations and Safran’s The Safran Organization will deliver in relationship with Warner Brothers. TV, where The Safran Organization is under a general arrangement.
The movies in “The Conjuring” Universe — “The Conjuring,” “Annabelle,” “The Conjuring 2,” “Annabelle: “Annabelle Comes Home,” “Creation,” “The Nun,” and “The Conjuring: Satan Caused Me To make it happen” — have on the whole netted more than $2 billion at the overall film industry. The sequel, titled “The Nun 2,” is scheduled for release on September 8, 2023.
