Children’s educator Ms. Rachel has publicly criticized pop singer Ed Sheeran in two Instagram posts after the singer fired rapper Macklemore from the U.S. tour for supporting Palestine. That happened after the rapper performed the protest song ” Free Palestine ” at MetLife Stadium.

In her first post, Ms. Rachel claims the singer had a chance to set a good example but didn’t.

“Ed Sheeran had an opportunity show that we won’t be bullied into punishing people for supporting Palestine,” Ms. Rachel wrote.

Then she claims that the singer gave in to his critics.

“Instead, he caved to people who refuse to accept what the world knows,” she adds.

Next, she describes the terrible situation in Gaza and calls on others to act.

“A genocide is happening in Gaza. We all need to speak out against it.”

In the caption, she claims that the reaction would be very different if more than 20,000 white children were killed somewhere else.

“If more than 20,000 white children were killed in another part of the world, everyone would be shouting about it at their concerts.”

According to her, such silence during genocide is a kind of racism.

“Treating some children’s lives as less worthy of outrage is racist,” Ms. Rachel states.

She finishes her caption by denying that staying silent is neutral.

“Silence during a genocide is not neutral.”

In the second post, Ms. Rachel calls the singer to reflect upon the decision that he is going to make.

“Imagine looking back 20 years from now at yourself kicking someone off a tour because they spoke out during a genocide that has killed over 20,000 kids,” she says.

Next, she gives some information about the horrible conditions in which the Palestinian children are now.

“Palestinian kids are still being killed, have had almost all of their homes, schools and hospitals bombed, live in tents without proper sanitation among rats,” she writes.

She continues, describing the terrible health condition of those children.

“Dying of easily treatable diseases, malnourished, the highest number of child amputees in modern history, 58,000 have lost one or both parents,” she states.

Next, she asks people to speak out.

“THEY NEED OUR VOICES, their human rights are being violated, and they are KIDS, also free Palestine,” she states.

Finally, she defends her statements.

“It’s not wrong to say Palestinian kids should be able to grow up and Palestinian people should be able to be free. It’s wrong to be silent during a genocide.”
