Peacock has released the first-look trailer and premiere date for its upcoming drama series, The Five Star Weekend, starring Jennifer Garner in the lead role as a cookbook author dealing with grief and turmoil in her personal life.

Eight episodes of the series will depict the story of Hollis Shaw, a chef and best-selling cookbook author known for her recipes and impeccable taste, who is adored by many. After going through some tragic events in her life, she starts to realize how much her life was built on illusion and discovers that her relationship with her husband isn’t working out, that she has a hard time with her daughter, and that she wants her fans’ approval.

Trying to heal and regain her strength, Hollis arranges for a weekend vacation on the island of Nantucket, where she invites three different women from different periods of her life, each representing her childhood, twenties, and thirties, as well as an unexpected fifth guest, all of whom are forced to come face-to-face with their secrets and limits.

Alongside playing the female protagonist of the series, Garner acts as one of its executive producers. At the same time, other members of the cast comprise D’Arcy Carden, Gemma Chan, Regina Hall, Chloë Sevigny, Harlow Jane, Timothy Olyphant, Rob Huebel, David Denman, Josh Hamilton, West Duchovny, Judy Greer, Tory Devon Smith, Morrison Keddie, and Roberta Colindrez.

Bekah Brunstetter is the creator of the series and, in addition to serving as the showrunner, is its writer and executive producer. Other executives behind the show include Minkie Spiro, who has also directed the pilot episode, and Beth Schacter, who has written the series. Others include Sue Naegle, Ali Krug, Elin Hilderbrand, and Merri Howard.

The Five Star Weekend is produced by UCP, which is a part of Universal Studio Group.
