In an exclusive interview with our very own Kori Nicole Barnes, Ruby Rose Turner, Morgan Dudley, and Dara Reneé sat down to discuss their highly anticipated film “Descendants: The Rise of Red.” The trio revealed personal manifestations and shared exciting details about the set life of their upcoming project.

“Descendants: The Rise of Red” continues the beloved franchise’s legacy by focusing on Red, the rebellious daughter of the Queen of Hearts, and Chloe, Cinderella’s perfectionist daughter. The plot thickens as the Queen of Hearts incites a coup against Auradon, compelling the unlikely duo of Red and Chloe to travel back in time. Their mission: is to prevent the traumatic event that turned Red’s mother into a villain.

The film boasts a star-studded cast, including Kylie Cantrall as Red and Malia Baker as Chloe. Iconic characters are brought to life by Brandy as Cinderella and Rita Ora as the Queen of Hearts. Dara Reneé steps into the role of Uliana, Ursula’s sister, while Ruby Rose Turner portrays Bridget/Young Queen of Hearts, and Morgan Dudley plays Ella/Young Cinderella.

The cast is rounded out by Joshua Colley as Young Hook, Peder Lindell as Morgie, Grace Narducci as Fay/Young Fairy Godmother, Jeremy Swift as Principal Merlin, Paolo Montalban as King Charming, and Leonardo Nam as Maddox Hatter. Fans will be thrilled to see China Anne McClain return as Uma, now the principal at Auradon Prep, along with Melanie Paxson reprising her role as Fairy Godmother.

The film is helmed by director Jennifer Phang with a script by Dan Frey and Russell Sommer. Suzanne Todd and Gary Marsh serve as executive producers. Choreography is led by Ashley Wallen, known for his work on “The Greatest Showman,” with a score by Torin Borrowdale.

The film’s visual appeal is crafted by production designer Mark Hofeling and director of photography Declan Quinn. Editor Katie Ennis, co-executive producers Mahita P. Simpson and Jennifer Phang, and producer Wendy S. Williams bring their expertise to the project, with costume design by Julia Caston and Emilio Sosa.

“Descendants: The Rise of Red” premieres on Friday, July 12, exclusively on Disney+, with a special encore on Friday, August 9, at 8:00 p.m. EDT/PDT on Disney Channel.
