MUBI has announced a North American tour to screen director Jane Schoenbrun’s latest film, “Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma.” This comes after the film’s world premiere as the opening-night selection in the Un Certain Regard section of the Cannes Film Festival.

The “Camp is in Session” tour features a number of screenings with Q&As with Schoenbrun herself and star Hannah Einbinder. All events occur prior to the theatrical release, set for August 7th.

Leading the cast of “Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma” is Einbinder, best known for the HBO series “Hacks.” Also starring are Gillian Anderson from “The X-Files” and “Sex Education,” Amanda Fix, Arthur Conti, Eva Victor, Zach Cherry, Sarah Sherman, Patrick Fischler, Dylan Baker, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Kevin McDonald, Quintessa Swindell, and Jack Haven.

Director Jane Schoenbrun wrote the script for “Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma.” Producers are Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner from Plan B.

The plot involves a young director seeking to reboot a slasher movie franchise. This sends him to meet up with the original film’s secretive star in an experience filled with sexual tension, terror, and uncertainty.

The “Camp is in Session” tour stops include NewFest Pride, June 1, New York City; Provincetown Film Festival, June 11, Massachusetts; Frameline50, June 27, San Francisco, California; Fantasia Fest, July 17, Montreal, Quebec; Coolidge Corner Theatre at Camp Rocky Woods, July 18, Massachusetts; and the Pam Cut Tomorrow Theater, July 25, Portland, Oregon.
