U.S. Missionary Worker Lucas Richard arrested for the attempted murder of his pregnant Liberian girlfriend Jessica Lloyd

Lucas Richard, a married man and missionary from Creekside Church, has reportedly been detained in Liberia for the attempted murder of his pregnant girlfriend, Jessica Lloyd.

According to a statement by the Liberian National Police, Richard allegedly drove Jessica Lloyd around Dixville, Caldwell. It was during this time that he attacked and injured her, resulting in lacerations on her neck, the back of her head, and fingers on September 14th around 3PM.

According to The Liberian Observer, Lucas Richard has denied the allegations and claimed that Lloyd had sustained injuries in a motorcycle accident. The publication states that Richards informed the police that the victim had requested U$150 from him to purchase groceries at the supermarket. After they finished shopping, he left her by the roadside so she could find a motorbike to transport her home.

Jessica Lloyd has denied Richard’s claims and told The Liberian Observer that he tried to kill her with a knife.

Cynthia Lloyld, the mother of Jessica Lloyd, accused Richard of giving an injection that caused the termination of Jessica’s two-week pregnancy.

Lloyd is currently receiving treatment at the John F. Kennedy Medical Hospital. Richard is currently being detained at the headquarters of the Liberia National Police, where he will continue to undergo investigations for attempted murder.
