According to the woman, Bianka Garcia, she is in her early 30s. The video starts with the woman speaking directly into the camera, moving her hands and smiling as she describes the text messages she received from a 21-year-old man.
“Why is a 21-year-old texting me?” asks Garcia in the beginning. “I’ve had a hard week. Two hard weeks.”
She quickly gives her impression of the young man as “Um, 6’4″, blonde, gorgeous, 21, maybe 20.”
Her family mostly influences her perception of the age gap between them.
“My brother is older than him,” says Garcia. “I feel like I’m in my own personal hell right now.”
The text messages leave her sitting by herself, oddly silent.
“I can’t even. I’m sitting at my dining room table with my thoughts. Silence. Silence,” she says. “Anyone who knows me knows I’m never in silence. I’m sitting here in freaking silence thinking about everything.”
Midway in the video, she changes his age to “22.”
Garcia makes clear that her reaction to the situation is comical but actually quite embarrassing.
“I’m laughing, but it’s not funny,” she says. “Is this what my life has come to? Really.”
The whole video focuses on how Garcia perceives other people’s reactions rather than the man himself. As she puts it, this may be fine in the future but not now.
“To be fair, I don’t think it matters if it happens in the future, but now I would be shunned,” she says. “I would be shunned. Anyway.”
Garcia says that she is going to bed early and keeping it to herself.
“I think I’m going to bed. Eight PM, turning in for the night,” she says. “I can’t tell my friends because I’d be shunned.”
The video ends with Garcia sharing more about herself.
“In my defense, he texted me. I’m not egging it on, I’m not encouraging it, but…” she says before the clip ends.
