Congresswoman Yassmin Ansari described as “absolutely unbelievable” the situation where the ICE agent responsible for the shooting to death of a 37-year-old U.S. citizen in January 2026, during a Minneapolis operation, has been allowed to resume duties without being charged criminally.

The ICE agent, Jonathan Ross, shot Renee Nicole Good several times, in one instance in her head, while she was either observing or interfering with immigration raids on her neighbors’ houses. The findings of an autopsy done by the family, together with the witness videos, cast doubt on the officer’s claim of defending himself.

“It’s absolutely unbelievable that there has been zero accountability when it comes to the murders of Renee Good or Alex Pretti,” Ansari explained in a recorded online conversation with Pablo Reports.

In addition, Ansari cited the January 24, 2026, murder of the U.S. citizen Alex Pretti in Minneapolis by agents of U.S. Customs and Border Protection. The congresswoman saw the two killings as evidence of a lack of accountability in the government’s federal immigration law enforcement amid the current aggressive deportation campaign.

“ICE should not be given one more dollar,” Ansari emphasized further. According to the congresswoman, any ICE agent who engages in any kind of violence, like assault and murder, among others, “from the top, from former DHS Secretary Kristi Noem, down to himself, must be held accountable for his crimes.

Speaking to independent journalist PabloReports, Ansari commented on the ongoing legal case opened by the Justice Department against former FBI Director James Comey, seeing this as a part of the administration’s pattern of targeting its political opponents. She stated that House Oversight Committee Democrats had filed a resolution that same day, holding the Attorney General, Pam Bondi, in civil contempt for refusing to testify under oath about her involvement in the cover-up of the Epstein files.

“This is all part of this Department of Justice’s absolute weaponization by Donald Trump to go after his perceived political enemies,” Ansari said.

As Ansari observed, Todd Blanch has continued acting as the acting attorney general after Bondi.
