The Peace Corps explained that people of color who want to volunteer in helping Ukrainian refugees may face blatant racism.
On their website, under a possible consideration for volunteers of color it states:
“It is not uncommon for Ukrainians to refer to African-Americans as “[N-Word]”. Volunteers of color may be called ‘a monkey’ or may see children’s games with Blackface.”
Lovely.
Peace Corp continued on by explaining reasons why Ukrainian refugees might call you a monkey if you are a person of color.
“Being aware of the history of dehumanization for people of African descent may help inform where this comes from; it does not justify it. It will be at your discretion to determine the intent. No matter the intent, staff recognizes the impact that hearing that word may invoke hurt and anger. If you view it as unlearned [something the person has never been exposed to], it may be an opportunity for you to educate that person.”

Instead of the peace corps relaying this message to the volunteers the Peace Corps needs to let the refugees know and their language that this type of behavior is not tolerated here in the United States of America and all men and women are created equal.
I’m a US citizen AA my makeup is what God created 2 of everything exception of fingers and toes and intellect and ability to invent as my ancestors did to move forward, I embrace my blackness bc the Bible clearly reads KJV his skin and hair is like mine. All those you teach to hate bc your white skin is the sin not mine need help but, you insult while asking for our black hand to lift you out of death! Black people in the USA pay tax that is helping yo fund your war . I find it hard to have compassion for people who look more like monkeys as they do come in white and the blatant ignorance makes them a Niger and I encourage any black being who’s self hating to go help you in a war to return the insult back calling them monkeys and the N word bc they are just that who call it! They are not children tell your people to respect us if they want respect! Don’t come to the USA that my ancestors built and made wealthy with your Nazis bullsht the help you get here comes to from those you insult . We need to hear from the mouth of the president the leader to teach these f’ apes to respect everyone!
Amazing with this type of racial attitude and behavior towards blacks they can’t see they are just as bad as the Russians who invaded them.
I have seen a video of Black man being beaten by white Ukraines on one of their city streets.
And yet they want world sympathy because Russia wages war against them.
After seeing their racist behavior I have no sympathy.
And black people go do volunteer in a country that will respect and honor your efforts to aid their country
Africa is a good start for you
You won’t be called a monkey or the N- word by the beautiful people there!
