In April, a New Jersey dentist admitted to operating a vehicle under the influence, based on his arrest in December 2025, recorded on police bodycam and watched by over 500,000 people on social media, according to Transparency Bodycam.

According to Transparency Bodycam, Dr. Allison Seigel was arrested in the early hours of December 28, 2025, following a minor collision involving her white 2024 Porsche Macan and a white 2024 Buick Envista on Amherst Ave. in Margate City. The accident happened in front of Tomatoe’s bar, and Sgt. Dustin Widas of the Margate City Police Department was called at 12:52 a.m. to attend to it, according to Transparency Bodycam.

After Widas arrived, witnesses who were bouncers at the bar informed him that Seigel was the one driving the Porsche before the accident. The dentist tried to deny driving but confessed to it after Widas noticed the signs of her intoxication, as reported by Transparency Bodycam.

Seigel admitted to consuming alcohol before getting behind the wheel. During the encounter, she did poorly on the HGN test and one-leg stand, resulting in Widas arresting her on suspicion of DWI, as indicated by Transparency Bodycam.

Seigel was then driven to the police station and given the Standard Statement for Motor Vehicle Operators. After refusing to provide breath samples, Seigel’s vehicle was towed away to comply with John’s Law, requiring a minimum 12-hour impoundment period. She was later released into the care of Francis Terry, who agreed to care for her while Seigel awaited the trial date; he signed the Potential Liability Warning form on Seigel’s behalf, according to Transparency Bodycam.

Hankinson provided Seigel with three citations: operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol, refusing to submit to a chemical test, and reckless driving.

Transparency Bodycam reports that Seigel pleaded guilty to the DUI charge on April 13, 2026. As part of a plea bargain, the other charges were dropped, and the dentist received a 12-hour stay at an intoxicated drivers’ resource facility, a 3-month installation of a mandatory ignition interlock device, and $640 in fines.

The bodycam recording went viral on social media via @thefactsdude, which is known for crime and bodycam content.

“One would assume you’d check for anyone hurt and exchange info in case anything else happens, whether you’re a dentist or just a regular person who caused a small fender bender while drunk,” a user stated.

Another viewer of the footage disapproved of how Seigel treated the police officers. “Put her into the drunk tank with everybody else. If I were the judge and saw this video, I’d give her a harsher sentence for having such a conceited attitude,” they stated.
